Terms of Service
Last updated: July 3, 2026 · Applies to FormsPal's online-divorce service (the "Service")
Welcome. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of FormsPal's online-divorce service, including this website, the eligibility questionnaire, the guided document interview, your account dashboard, and the document packages we prepare (together, the "Service"). Our Privacy Notice describes how we handle your personal data, and the Membership Agreement and Money-Back Policy govern billing and refunds.
By accessing the Service you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. We are not a law firm
FormsPal is a self-help document-preparation service. We are not a law firm, we are not licensed attorneys, and we do not provide legal advice, legal representation, or legal opinions. No attorney-client relationship is created by your use of the Service. We do not review your answers or documents for legal sufficiency, draw legal conclusions, apply the law to the facts of your situation, or advise you about your legal rights, remedies, defenses, options, or strategies. The information on this site is general information about court procedures, not advice about your case. If you need legal advice, or if your divorce is contested, involves family violence, or has complex property or custody issues, consult a licensed attorney in your state.
You are the author of your documents: the Service assembles official, publicly available court forms based on the answers you provide, and you are solely responsible for reviewing every document for accuracy and completeness before signing or filing it.

3. Who may use the Service
- You are 18 years of age or older and have full legal capacity to enter into this agreement.
- You provide true, accurate, current, and complete information. Your documents are only as correct as the answers you give.
- The Service is designed for uncontested divorce, where both spouses agree on the terms. It may not fit contested cases, and we flag common conflict signals during the interview, but we cannot and do not determine whether the Service is legally suitable for your situation.
4. What the Service provides
- A guided questionnaire that determines which official, state-specific court forms an uncontested divorce typically requires in your state and county.
- Document preparation: your answers are entered into those official forms, which you can review and edit before downloading.
- A dashboard with step-by-step guidance for signing, notarizing, and filing your documents, and general information for tracking your case.
- Customer support for using the Service (support cannot give legal advice).
Filing fees, notarization fees, service-of-process fees, and any other court or third-party charges are not included and are paid by you directly to the court or provider.
5. Your account
An account (email + password) is created when you purchase. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account. You can change your password from your profile or recover access via password reset. Notify us immediately at support@formspal.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
6. Fees, plans, and membership
- Your document package is a one-time charge at the plan price shown at checkout.
- To keep your case active afterward, a $39/month membership begins 30 days after purchase and renews monthly until you cancel: the full terms, including how to cancel, are in the Membership Agreement. By purchasing, you authorize us to initiate these recurring charges.
- Refunds are governed by the Money-Back Policy.
- Payments are processed by third-party payment processors. We do not store your full card number.
7. Electronic records and signatures
By using the Service you consent to receive records, notices, and disclosures electronically, and to the use of electronic signatures, under the U.S. E-SIGN Act and applicable state law (both Texas and California have adopted the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act). Where a document requires notarization or a wet signature, the Service tells you so, an electronic signature within the Service does not replace a notarization your court requires. You may withdraw this consent or request paper copies by contacting support. Doing so may limit or delay the Service.
8. Third-party services
Notaries (including remote online notaries), e-filing providers, courts, and payment processors are independent third parties. We are not responsible for their services, availability, fees, or acts and omissions, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.
9. Your information and documents
You own the information you provide and the completed documents in your case. You grant us the limited license needed to store and process that information to operate the Service (see the Privacy Notice). You are solely responsible for the accuracy of your answers and for the consequences of filing documents based on them.
10. Our content and license to you
The Service, including its software, design, guides, and text, is owned by us or our licensors. The underlying court forms are public documents of the issuing courts and agencies. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for preparing your own divorce documents. You may not resell the Service, use it to prepare documents for others as a service, copy or scrape the Service, or use it to provide legal services or legal advice to any third party.
11. Prohibited uses
- Using the Service to provide legal services or advice to others, or reselling access.
- Submitting false information, or preparing documents for a person without their knowledge and authorization where the law requires it.
- Interfering with the Service's operation or security, scraping, or reverse engineering.
- Any unlawful purpose.
12. Warranties and disclaimers
The Service and all documents and content are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that any document is complete or suitable for your situation or accepted by any particular court, or that your divorce will reach any particular outcome or timeline. Court rules and forms change. Always confirm the current requirements with your court.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we and our affiliates, officers, employees, and vendors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits or data, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. If we are found liable notwithstanding the foregoing, our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amounts you paid to us for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations. In those, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of law or third-party rights.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware (United States of America), without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, consistent with formspal.com's platform terms. Disputes will first be addressed through good-faith negotiation with our support team. Unresolved disputes are subject to the courts of the State of Delaware. Claims must be brought within one (1) year of arising, and only on an individual basis, to the extent permitted by law, you waive participation in class or representative actions.
16. Changes, termination, and miscellany
We may modify the Service or these Terms. If changes are material we will notify you on the Service before they take effect, and continued use constitutes acceptance. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms. If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Notice, Cookie Notice, Membership Agreement, and Money-Back Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us for the Service.
